8-18 Nov: Shrouds of the Somme. This huge installation commemorates the centenary of the end of World War I, by placing 72,396 miniature human figures upon a green space in the park. Entirely created by British artist Rob Heard, each figure is covered with a shroud and represents a serviceman lost during the Battle of the Somme. You'll find it next to the ArcelorMittal Orbit, from where you can take in a birds-eye view of the piece.
