13 Eyre Street Hill
Monday – Friday: 12pm – 11pm.
The Gunmakers, a quirky 19th-century pub in Clerkenwell, has been taken over by the drinks agency Sweet&Chilli. The ground-floor bar brims with plants and flowers serving Asian-inspired small plates made from seasonal British produce. Chef Madison Duffy from Wright Bros and Coya has created dishes including cucumber salad with sour radishes, ox tongue spring roll with chilli jam; crispy pig’s ears with nori and soy-glazed chicken.
A spiral staircase leads to a bar with antiques, Chesterfield sofas and art on turquoise walls. Enjoy craft beer and cocktails, including a salted-caramel Old Fashioned, while a DJ spins tunes. Gun Club, in the attic, is a hair salon with original barbershop chairs and a retro bar, so you can enjoy a drink while you have your hair trimmed.
