When Westfield London first opened in 2008, it was London’s largest shopping centre, and now, after a multi-million-pound refurbishment, it is the largest in Europe. Nestled near Shepherd’s Bush, the centre has recently unveiled its expansion, making it a top destination for avid shoppers. Prior to its expansion, Westfield London was home to 360 retailers ranging from high-street stores to luxury brands. The expansion covers 740,000 sqft of space, with 90 new shops and restaurants. Meanwhile, established retailers from H&M and The White Company to Pull&Bear and Cath Kidston are also benefiting from the renovation, as its stores have expanded.
Among the new additions are Bo Concept, Adidas, Bravissimo and, crucially, Primark, which is a haven for shoppers on a budget. If you want to get an idea of just how big the space is, Primark covers 70,000 sqft – making it even larger than the 55,000 sqft in the White House in Washington DC and almost as big as Wembley Stadium’s 77,000 sqft pitch. Shopping can, of course, be hard work. If your feet need a rest, refuel in the newly opened Japanese Ichiba Food Hall or Westfield’s newest bar and brasserie, Maple. If you are after family-friendly fun, there is also a new All Star Lanes – it has seven bowling lanes, two Art Deco-style bars and a karaoke booth.
Thanks to the expansion, a visit here promises to offer more than a shopping trip.
