Highlights include the dazzling state apartments furnished with art by Rembrandt, Rubens and Canaletto, and the grand reception room with chandeliers and a huge malachite urn presented to Queen Victoria by Tsar Nicholas I in 1839. Queen Mary’s dolls’ house, created between 1921 and 1924, is an outstanding piece of craftsmanship.
