It seems that 2018 is Alan Yau’s year, as the restaurateur behind Yauatcha, Hakkasan and Wagamama has opened Yamabahçe.
If you’re after something casual, this is for you: it serves eggs and simit (sesame bagels) for breakfast; has a no-reservation, no-cash policy; you can sit inside, on the pavement
or get a takeaway; and there’s no menu – you just browse what’s on offer via Pinterest. Yamabahçe specialises in pide, or Turkish flatbread, cooked in a wood-fired oven.
