Our top rooftop bars in London
As temperatures rise, visit one of these dreamy rooftop bars where you can sip a cocktail while gazing across London’s swoon-worthy cityscape
Radio Rooftop Bar
The dress code for the luxurious rooftop bar of ME London Hotel is smart-casual, but when the view includes The Shard, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Houses of Parliament, jeans somehow don’t seem appropriate. Soak up the view from one of the best bars in London at a table filled with tapas and cocktails. Open daily throughout the year. (Pictured above)
ME London, 336-337 Strand, WC2R 1HA
If you’re planning another trip to London in summer, visit Frank’s Café on top of a multistorey car park in Peckham. Watch the sun set with a cocktail, cool company and amazing sculptures close by. With a relaxed vibe, kids are welcome any time – you can even bring blankets to snuggle under if the temperature dips. The bar is open from May.

Boasting two stylish terraces overlooking Regent Street, Aqua Spirit is well placed for sundowner cocktails post-meeting or after a shopping spree. Gaze out over Liberty, the BT Tower and the Coca-Cola London Eye while sipping on a classy tipple such as the City Sunrise cocktail, a blend of tequila, mescal and lime. Cheers!
5th Floor, 240 Regent St, W1B 3BR
With Terence Conran overseeing its creation, it’s no wonder Boundary Rooftop looks so good. The heated rooftop orangery at this converted Victorian warehouse in Shoreditch has a kitchen garden, citrus trees and a fantastic bar and grill. Soak up the sun or sit in the shade under the vine-cloaked pergola and enjoy Mediterranean cuisine and exquisite cocktails. Open throughout the year.
2-4 Boundary St, Shoreditch, E2 7dd
This handsome rooftop bar and restaurant enjoys a lofty position on the 10th floor of the Montcalm Royal London House Hotel in Finsbury Square, just a short walk from Old Street or Liverpool Street Tube stations. Gaze over the City’s skyline with a botanical-themed cocktail on the heated terrace, where you can plonk yourself down on plush lounge seating. Delicious meat and fish cooked over charcoal is on the menu if you’re feeling peckish, or select one of the small plates. Open throughout the year.

A glass-sided lift takes you high up the Salesforce Tower to floors 38 or 39, where you are able to try a unique fusion of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine. Being known for one of the highest outdoor terrace’s in Europe, you are also able to see 360’ views of the City, and there really isn’t much like sipping 5-star cocktails or champagne under the stars.
110 Bishopsgate, London, EC2N 4AY
Culpeper Roof Garden
This roof space, which is just a stone’s throw from the City’s skyscrapers, is used to grow veggies and herbs that feature on the gastro pub’s menu. With the cocktail bar sitting under a glass atrium at the entrance, the atmosphere of the place has a unique charm about it. Try a lemon-thyme ambrosia which isn’t as easy-going as it sounds thanks to brandy, calvados and prosecco all in the mix…, although after trying it…. we certainly recommend it.
40 Commercial Street, E1 6LP
Bar Elba can be seen as a tribute to Napolean, who was exiled to the Island of Elba in 1814 with 600 of his best friends and his favourite horse, Marengo – staying for 300 days in total, we can almost be sure that it turned out to be a party island.
With views over London, and following a tropically themed scheme, this rooftop bar allows you to enjoy a summer cocktail from their menu of firm favourites, like Aperol Spritz, Violet Femme and Love Potion No.10.
Happy hour is served every day until 6pm as well as 9pm-11pm Sunday – Thursday.
Mercury House 109-117 Waterloo Road, London, SE1 8UL
