Visit the Eid Festival in Trafalgar Square
Eid celebrates the end of Ramadan (the Islamic month of fasting), which gives London an excuse to throw a big party. Held on Trafalgar Square, London’s Eid Festival is a free afternoon event, taking place on Saturday 23 June.
A stage is being built between the square’s famous lions, welcoming a series of musical and dance acts, while many of the stalls around Trafalgar Square offer fun activities for children. Don’t miss the chance to shop, or sample the Global Food Market’s range of flavours from across the Muslim world.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan is a Muslim – he was also Britain’s first-ever Muslim cabinet minister in 2009 – so you’ll be in very good company.
London’s Eid Festival on Trafalgar Square takes place on Saturday 23 June, from 12pm to 6pm. Visit www.london.gov.uk/eid for more details.
