London’s first National Park City Week
Did you know that London is going to become the world’s first National Park City in 2019? Part of this project is London’s first-ever National Park City Week, taking place from tomorrow until Sunday 29 Jul. Find out more right here.
Thanks to backing by the Mayor of London and a large number of the city’s government, London’s status as a National Park City will mean that more green spaces will be created, to connect people with nature and the outdoors. National Park City Week will kick off with a day-long event tomorrow (Sat 21 Jul) at Conway Hall in Holborn, where you’ll have the chance to learn more about green London and take part in walks.
The programme for the rest of the week will enable you to get involved with kayaking, street dancing and more outdoor fun.
We think that the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford (above) is particularly impressive, so why join one of two daily, expert-led tours there this week? The tours are at 11am and 1pm and cost £8 for adults or £3 for children – call 020 8536 2716 to book.
The full list of events is at www.nationalparkcity.london/week, so pick your activity and experience this monumental park that we call London.
National Park City Week takes place across London from Sat 21 to Sun 29 Jul
