Sargeant's Mess restaurant opens beside the Tower of London
If you’re browsing London Planner, we reckon there’s a good chance that the Tower of London is on your sightseeing list. If so, we have good news: a new restaurant by a top British chef is opening next to the Tower tomorrow, with 33% off food until Thur 10 May.
Called Sargeant’s Mess, this new restaurant is by Mark Sargeant. The chef is behind acclaimed restaurants around the country, including Rocksalt in Folkestone on the south coast, and Plum + Split Milk at London’s Great Northern Hotel in King’s Cross. The location of Sargeant’s Mess means that diners can enjoy brilliant views of the River Thames and Tower Bridge, while a large outdoor terrace will be ideal for this weekend’s sunny weather forecast.
The menu is modern British and covers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dishes include crushed avocado on rye toast with a poached egg, Atlantic cod with chips cooked in roasted meat fat, mushy peas and tartare sauce (above), while desserts such as this chocolate meringue with cherries should convince you to stay a bit longer…
There’s also afternoon tea from 3-5pm, a special dish of the day priced at £15.50 Mon-Sat (£19.50 for a roast dinner on Sundays), and a bar on the terrace serving Prosecco on tap, frozen cocktails and beer slushies.
If you’d like to be one of the first through the door and receive 33% off your food bill, make a booking between tomorrow and next Thursday 10 May and quote ‘soft launch’.
