Where to see Six Nations rugby in London

The annual Six Nations tournament is back (1 Feb-14 Mar 2020), delivering more top-quality rugby to fans in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France and Italy. This is great news if you’re in London, because England hosts several Six Nations games at Twickenham Stadium every year. This West London stadium is the official home of English rugby, but you’ll find the World Rugby Museum here, too. Read on for more about Twickenham Stadium and Six Nations 2020.

It’s time for English rugby fans time to take stock after the 2019 Rugby World Cup, which was held in Japan. England, who had pulled off one of their greatest victories against the mighty All Blacks in the semi-final, came sadly unstuck in the final against a solid South Africa, losing 12-32.

Six Nations 2020 is the ideal opportunity for England to restore their pride. Rugby fans are hoping that the annual tournament can recreate some of 2019’s World Cup magic. It’s also a fresh start for some teams.

London matches

England are likely to start as favourites for this tournament, which includes home games held at Twickenham Stadium against Ireland (23 Feb 2020) and Wales (7 Mar 2020). This tournament can help answer one big question that the World Cup threw up: how will the home nations pick themselves up?

The good news, for England, is that the much-admired coach Eddie Jones is staying at the helm – for now, anyway. There might be a few changes to the squad but most of the players are young: Maro Itoje (25), Tom Curry (21) and Joe Cokanasiga (22) are entering the prime of their playing career.

England’s competition

So, what about the other nations? Wales and Scotland both begin a new era with a change of head coaches, after the departure of Joe Schmidt and Warren Gatland respectively. Ireland, who suffered a shock rugby World Cup 2019 defeat against host nation Japan, have a tough task ahead with their new boss Andy Farrell.

The sporting world looks ahead to see if these new coaches can win over the players, fans and media. It’s certainly going to be a Six Nations rugby tournament to relish.
