Sporting Events coming Up In June 2018

Queen’s Club Championships
Some of the world’s top tennis names compete at the Queen’s Club Championships in this Wimbledon warm-up. Look out for Spain’s Rafael Nadal, who has recovered from serious injury and is currently an impressive world number two. It has been 10 years since he lifted this trophy on the grass courts in West Kensington.

Before the FIFA World Cup in Russia begins, England get a valuable practice match against Nigeria at Wembley Stadium (2 June). The slick Super Eagles had an impressive qualifying phase to book their place in the tournament, so it promises to be a good contest where neither team will want to suffer injuries before Russia.

HSBC World Rugby Sevens
Reaching the climax of its year-long season, London hosts the penultimate competition of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens at Twickenham (2-3 June). Fifteen national teams have played in 10 tournaments across the globe, from Argentina to Russia. Rugby Sevens is dominated by the southern hemisphere teams – but all visitors are guaranteed to enjoy an exciting sporting weekend.
