Mayor’s Letter: May 2018
A big welcome to London this May
Spring is in the air and a number of events will help you make the most of everything in our city. The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be an unforgettable celebration. If you’re here for the royal wedding, which takes place in Windsor, make sure you discover the capital’s royal history – Buckingham Palace, Hampton Court Palace, the Tower of London… and that’s just for starters.
To make the most of the warm weather, head over to Kew Gardens, where the Temperate House will reopen on 5 May after a five-year refurbishment. For those looking for horticultural highlights, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show begins on 22 May.
The capital’s museums and galleries open their doors for late-night exhibitions as part of the Museums at Night festival, and it’s a great time to take in open-air theatre, from Shakespeare’s Globe to Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. And football fans shouldn’t miss the women’s (5 May) and men’s (19 May) FA Cup finals at Wembley Stadium.
However you spend your time, enjoy everything London has to offer!
