Mayor’s Letter: September 2018
A big welcome to London this September
Summer may be drawing to a close but our capital is as vibrant as ever. All month, the Totally Thames festival will be putting London’s famous river centre stage. From dramatic submerged performances to riverside walks and talks in Billingsgate’s Roman Baths, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
On the 16th September, head to Guildhall Yard for the annual Pearly Kings and Queens Harvest Festival, where you’ll see marching bands, Morris dancing and revellers spinning around the maypole; it’s a glimpse into centuries-old traditions. London is a creative powerhouse and, this month, you can see some of the world’s most talented designers showcase their work at the London Design Festival and London Fashion Week.
Our capital is full of stunning architecture and, this September, you can take a look around the city’s most beautiful buildings for free. With Open House London sites in nearly every borough, this is a great opportunity to discover a new side to our wonderful capital.
However you spend your time, I hope you have a fantastic visit!
