A letter from the Mayor of London: Sadiq Khan
Welcome to London this March
To mark International Women’s Day (8 Mar), the Southbank Centre is hosting WOW – Women of the World Festival, which explores politics, media and womanhood in all their complexity.
London has a big Irish population, so see the capital turn green in honour of St Patrick’s Day (17 Mar). Head to Trafalgar Square for a festival of Irish music, food and dance and watch the parade, which sets off from Piccadilly at noon.
Meanwhile, a highlight of our London Borough of Culture programme takes place when Africa Express: The Circus arrives in Waltham Forest (25-29 Mar). See African and Western artists join together for an unmissable celebration of unity.
Finally, Tate Britain hosts a must-see exhibition about Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh, who lived in London for several years when he was a young man. It features the artists and locations that inspired van Gogh, as well as Sunflowers. However you spend your time in the capital, have a great visit.
