Mayor’s Letter: March 2020

What’s on in London this March

This month we celebrate the success of women in our great city with International Women’s Day. The Women of the World festival at the Southbank Centre (6-8 Mar) has inspiring speakers, performers and activists to discuss the future of gender equality and celebrate the milestones achieved by women.

Visit Tate Modern to see Andy Warhol’s work (from 12 Mar). Famous Pop Art images are on display, including portraits of black and Latino drag queens and trans women.

With the Tokyo 2020 Olympics just months away, watch Britain’s best male and female boxers qualify to compete at the Games as they take on European opponents at the Copper Box Arena (14-24 Mar), which hosted events during London 2012.

Last but not least, enjoy the St Patrick’s Day festival (15 Mar), the largest celebration of Irish culture in London. Thousands line the parade route and enjoy a showcase in Trafalgar Square – everyone is welcome. I hope you enjoy what’s on in London this March and have a wonderful time.
